The excursion takes you to some of Elba’s most captivating and beautiful spots, also visited on our afternoon tour, including the Costa del Sole, the Grotta Azzurra, the Pomonte Shipwreck, and the beaches of Cavoli, Seccheto, and Fetovaia (you can find detailed descriptions in the sections dedicated to the Shipwreck and the Grotta Azzurra). One of the highlights of this wonderful boat trip is that, after passing the Pomonte Shipwreck, we continue sailing towards Sant’Andrea. Before reaching Sant’Andrea and passing the quaint village of Pomonte, we’ll stop at the Beach of Campo Lo Feno, where the water’s stunning colours contrast beautifully with the pebbly seabed, creating a truly enchanting scene. Following this, we encounter the Sedia di Napoleone, a remarkable rock formation accessible only by sea. This is a flattened section of cliff, part of the Marciana Marina area, which, according to legend, was Napoleon’s favourite spot to pause and admire Corsica, his homeland. The beaches of Patresi and Guardia, situated just beyond the Sedia di Napoleone, are also incredibly charming, nestled in pristine nature and accessible only on foot via quaint little trails. Finally, beyond Guardia beach, a cluster of flat, elongated rocks heralds our arrival at one of the most beloved destinations—not just for tourists, but also many Elba locals alike! This is the Capo Sant’Andrea Beach, together with the nearby bay of Cotoncello. Capo Sant’Andrea is truly unique: its fine sandy beach leads to a jetty from which a delightful walk along the rocks begins. In spring, this path transforms into a blooming meadow of sea figs, also known as Ottentotti figs. The pink blossoms offer a spectacular sight that nature lovers won’t want to miss — a very rare scene in the Mediterranean. Both Sant’Andrea and Cotoncello beaches stand out for their crystal-clear blue waters and a remarkably rich marine ecosystem, home to jellyfish, salema porgies, bogues, and starfish. We’ve even had the unforgettable experience of spotting magnificent sea turtles! After exploring Sant’Andrea and Cotoncello, the return journey to Marina di Campo harbour offers a chance to search for dolphins, making the trip truly memorable.
